Stratton is investing $9 million in a Main Base Lodge project, which will add 4,000 square feet and approximately 350 seats to the original lodge that has welcomed generations of friends and family since 1961. A brand new cell tower has been installed at the Sun Bowl area to provide better cell phone service to Verizon and AT&T customers visiting the resort. A summit webcam will also be ready for the 2015-16 season, allowing snow enthusiasts to watch what’s happening at Stratton from their computers and cell phones.
Stratton is an awesome place to ride. Most of the mountain has a pretty mellow slope with loooong trails as you can tell from the map. They have an impressive collection of park areas from beginner to expert. A quick moving gondola, beautiful village and plenty of other things to do besides ride. In terms of the village, everyone goes to Grizzly’s which is right in front of the mountain. But if you walk down the village a little ways, there’s a bar called The Green Door Pub. Lots of great snowboard swag on the walls and very dive bar-ish. Final place I’ll mention is the Market and Deli. They have some pretty pricy subs but thats what you expect when eating at a resort and its so worth it! They also have a nice beer selection that you can buy with your sub and drink out in the village (last time i checked)
