Growing up in a family of skiers in Cowansville, Québec near the Bromont ski area, Max mowed lawns for a summer to buy his first snowboard at the age of 9, and he hasn’t looked back since.
His professional career began when he placed third at the St-Sauveur Shakedown when he was 16, and now at the age of 22 he competes around the world at events like Air + Style, the X Games, and the Olympics. Max was the first snowboarder to land consecutive Triple jumps in an X Games Slopestyle run, the second male to ever win Slopestyle and Snowboard Big Air at the same X Games, and the first rider ever to land a Cab Quadruple Underflip 1620. Since his first appearance in 2013, he has earned 6 X Games medals in Big Air and Slopestyle. At the Sochi Olympics, Max finished fifth in the Slopestyle final, and he is poised to be a top competitor in both Slopestyle and Big Air at the 2018 Olympics.
Max stepped into spotlight just recently at the end of October, when he landed the first-ever Double Backside Rodeo 1440! Featured on ESPN’s X-Games and the Dew Tour, Max and his photographer Ren Rob produced an epic video in Saas Fee, Switzerland featuring Max’s pursuit to stomping the new trick on his NOBADAY board. Each year Max continues to propel the sport to new heights; this new trick comes just a year after he introduced the world to the first ever quadruple underflip in early 2015.
